My Photography Style: Elegant, Vintage, and Cinematic

Alina Veksler | August 13, 2025

If I were asked to describe my photography style in three words, it would be “elegant, vintage, and cinematic”. I strive for my work to evoke a feeling similar to watching a good movie, where all elements—such as story, character, emotions, and camera work—create a cohesive piece. Creating vintage, film-inspired images speaks to my warm childhood memories of enjoying movies with my dad. Growing up surrounded by an abundance of classical art, architecture, theatre, and music, I want to bring more elegant, classy, and tasteful art to the world.

With this recent creative portrait session, Jess and I intended to portray the essence of “flow”. The running river, the bridge with its tall pillars levitating over the river, and Jess, as light as a feather, moving across the bridge with the wind in her hair. In early spring, that’s the state that many of us are in—we get in this flow while looking forward to the excitement that lies ahead, like more sun and more happenings around town as people get out of their dens. With this series, we wanted to create a symbol of such transition—exciting, inspiring, and timeless.
