Emotive Creative Portraits of Twin Sisters at Golden Hour

Alina Veksler | January 12, 2026

Growing up as the only child, you sometimes wonder how your life might have looked with siblings… I sure had similar thoughts throughout my childhood. It always fascinated me—the idea of another child growing alongside you, in the same family, yet turns out so different—your hobbies, interests, and worldviews are most likely very unlike. I never had siblings, so I will never know this feeling, but it doesn’t mean I can’t capture my interpretation of the topic and transform it into a visual story.

This series celebrates sisterhood, unbreakable family bonds we carry throughout life, both alikeness and individuality, artistry, beauty, and summer days. I was lucky enough to work with absolutely amazing, inside and out, twin sisters—Annika and Riley. Together, we managed to create an authentic visual story of two sisters, their uniquely artistic personalities, and their interactions. I offered gentle directing, but also space and freedom for them to express themselves. The atmosphere throughout the shoot was very effortless, allowing me to capture many candid and joyful moments, ones that are cherished for years.
